WILL Book Club–Sticky Note Project

February 11, 2019

WILL (Women Influencing Lives through Literature) Book Club’s Positive Affirmation Sticky Note Project**

While talking about our current book we were reading in December, the young ladies in the WILL Book Club were discussing one thing they would change about the world if they could.  All of them had the same answer: they would make everyone more kind.  Each student also talked about their personal experience with their peers at this school, selective friend groups, peer pressure, and acceptance based on material items.  When asked why they think some people may be rude, the girls stated that maybe they were not receiving positive affirmations themselves.  They all agreed that an increase of kindness for their peers would benefit everyone.  Liz Huynh (the MSMS student facilitator) and I talked with the students and discussed how we could spread kindness throughout the school by writing positive affirmations and nice things on sticky notes and placing them in the hallways.  Students that would pass by in between classes could take one to keep or simply just read them.  The girls appreciated the opportunity to spread kindness and positivity throughout the school.
